This winter skiers have the choice of booking a package holiday to the Alps by rail, including their resort accommodation and sometimes the lift pass too, with companies like Inghams, SNO and Travelski, or they can make their own arrangements and just buy a train ticket via RailEurope.com
From today, winter lovers can book their Eurostar Snow train tickets to the French Alps for the 2025/2026 season at RailEurope.com with their newly rebranded Eurostar service from London St Pancras.
RailEurope operates its Snow Train service from London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Antwerp.
“The Snow Train offer is a more conscious way to travel — cutting emissions while crossing some of Europe’s most scenic winter landscapes. With no traffic jams or airport queues, travellers arrive in the Alps relaxed and ready, without ever setting foot in a ca,” a company spokesperson said.
The Snow Train service from the UK operates every Saturday throughout the season, linking London St Pancras with six Alpine stations — including Moûtiers, Aime-la-Plagne and Bourg-Saint-Maurice — via a connection in Lille Europe. Return journeys from Bourg-Saint-Maurice run on Sundays, making it easy to plan a full week on the slopes. From the train stations, ski resorts like Les Arcs, La Plagne, Tignes and Val d’Isère are just a shuttle or funicular ride away.
Travel time between London and the Alps is approximately 7 hours and 44 minutes. Currently the moment, the most affordable return fare available from London to Bourg-Saint-Maurice is £224. This is based on a departure on Saturday, 7 March, for an eight-night stay in the Alps, returning on Sunday the following weekend.
“More than just a train, the Snow Train is part of a growing movement: travellers choosing rail over road or air, not only for comfort but because it’s a better choice for the planet. At Rail Europe, we believe the journey should be as responsible as the destination — and this is rail travel at its best: scenic, simple and sustainable,” the Rail Europe spokesperson added.
Rail Europe is the global platfom for European train booking with a 90 year history of working with rail companies and sells around 5 million European train tickets every year
