Powder days just got more convenient for nursing mums at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont, as the US resort has installed a Mamava lactation suite to support nursing resort guests and employees. It says it is the first in the US to do so.

“With over 300,000 guests every winter, and 1,500 employees, Stowe is supporting their nursing mums with this clean, comfortable, and private space to pump or nurse,” a resort spokesperson said.

Stowe also just opened a new 25 million-dollar Adventure Center for children and families.

“We’re thrilled to now have a Mamava lactation suite at the resort. The installation makes total sense considering everything we’ve done in recent years to add conveniences and amenities for families,” said Lauren Simmers, Resort Sales Manager. “This pod will help us to further support our moms with options. Breastfeeding is of course welcome anywhere a mom feels comfortable throughout our resort, but for those who prefer privacy or need to pump, we now have this space for you,” Simmers added.

The Mamava suite is a self-contained, mobile pod designed to look like a gondola cabin with comfortable benches, a fold-down table, an electrical outlet for plugging in a breast pump, and a door that can be locked for privacy. The 4-foot by 8-foot pod is meant for individual use, but can fit more than one person, as well as mothers with babies and other children in tow. The Mamava suite embodies the spirit of Mamava’s “happy breast” logo – beautifully designed to support and celebrate breastfeeding.

The Mamava lactation suite at Stowe Mountain Resort is now listed on the Mamava locator app at the following location: on the plaza level of the Spruce Camp Base Lodge and available during all operational hours of the base lodge.

“We couldn’t be happier to have a local mountain be the first resort to install a Mamava suite. Stowe is a leader both in our home state and around the country supporting their nursing staff and guests. Mamas who want to sneak in a powder day sans kids now needn’t worry about a dignified space to pump!” said Sascha Mayer, CEO and Co-Founder.
