Peak Performance is rooted in the love of the mountains. The urge to set everything else aside and be in the moment. To be ahead of the game, they stay part of the game and for this season they have created some of the best performing ski gear. Heli Pro is crafted from a completely new fabric, the extremely durable 3-layer Vectran can withstands whatever the weather or the hills have to throw at you. They have also integrated the Rotauf MRK5 avalanche system in the Heli Pro pant for extra safety.
“I spend almost 150 days on the hills and need outerwear that I can count on. I prefer a loose fit for good movement and style, smartly placed ventilation zippers for changing weather and a roomy pocket for a small camera, binoculars and some snacks. I’ve been riding in Heli Pro for a couple of months now and it really bears some heavy riding – ripping down those hills or fast powder turns in the woods without a scratch”, says Henrik Windstedt, freerider and part of Peak Performance international team.
Heli Pro
The Heli Pro jacket and pant are crafted from a new and extremely durable 3-layer Vectran fabric developed by Peak Performance and a Swedish company specialized in technical textiles and industrial materials. The Vectran® fiber and nylon are specially woven to create a fabric that is highly abrasive- resistant, yet very lightweight. This high-tech material acts like an impenetrable barrier to withstand all different kinds of weather.
”Vectran® is a multifilament yarn spun from liquid crystal polymer (LCP). I know it doesn’t say that much for many of us, but pound for pound Vectran® fiber is five times stronger than steel and 10 times stronger than aluminum. The development of the Heli Pro outfit took several years, and I truly believe that the design and clever features together with the exceptional fabric and safety system make these pants a dream for freeskiers”, says Jonas Olsson, designer Active at Peak Performance.
