Eurostar have announced that tickets are now on sale for their direct ski train service from London St Pancras direct to the French Alps for winter 2016-17.

The service also stops at Ashford in Kent then, after a journey of around eight hours for the daytime service or 10 hours for an overnight option, arrives in the Alps.

The train stops at stations a short bus, taxi or funicular railway ride from resorts in the 3 Valleys as well as La Plagne, Les Arcs, La Rosiere, Tignes and Val d’Isere.

The service runs from mid-December to the start of April and ticket prices are currently the same as last year at £149 return for the standard service or £229 for the premier service.  The price includes the right to bring along up to two bags.

Train tickets normally go on sale three months before journey day but Eurostar are putting tickets on sale up to nine months ahead to compete with airlines, who are already selling tickets for the same period, allowing skiers to plan and book ahead.  Popular dates in particular do sell out early.
