Veteran Californian pop band The Beach Boys will become the latest in a long line of global superstars to play at the Austrian Tirol resort of Ischgl.
The band, famous for numerous hits including ‘Fun, Fun, Fun’ and ‘Surfin’ USA’ will open Ischgl’s long ski season with a free concert for lift ticket holders on Saturday, 28th November 2015
Ischgl traditionally highlights the start and end of its five month season by staging a concert for the opening and closing weekends and over the years has seen more world class superstars perform than any other resort – Elton John, Kylie and Rihanna to name but a few.
The late November opening is a major commitment for Ischgl and several seasons ago it was reported to have invested a million Euros on snowmaking operations in order to open a large amount of terrain during an unseasonably warm autumn when other resorts scheduling opening weekend celebration, including Europe’s highest resort Val Thorens, decided to delay opening.
