Sunshine Village opens today after 10cm (4in) of snowfall in the last 24hrs and with a 59cm (23in) snowpack. Conditions are near perfect as the resort will open with twenty runs and three lifts; Strawberry Express, Wolverine Express Quad and Jackrabbit Quad. The resort will also open the Strawberry Terrain Park with two lines and six features including a 24ft. tubby tube, a wide box and propane tank.
It joins already open Lake Louise and Mt Norquay to complete the ‘Big 3’ openings of ski areas around Banff in Alberta, Canada.
Lake Louise Ski Area has officially announced the opening of the Grizzly Express Gondola this Saturday for upper mountain and front side access. The Sunny Side Carpet in the beginner area is also now open. Mt. Norquay will be open weekends until Nov 29th, when it will then open for full 7 day operation.
