Chill Factore launches talent spotting with Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards to award grass roots sponsorship

With the 2018 Winter Olympics just around the corner and snowsports fever sweeping the nation, Chill Factore has launched a first-of-its-kind talent spotting to give passionate skiers and snowboarders the chance to fulfil their dream of becoming the next big thing.

Teaming up with the world’s best-known ski jump personality, Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, Chill Factore is on the hunt for inspiring youngsters from as young as six whose single greatest passion is snowsports and offering the helping hand they need to put their potential into practice.

Unlike talent spotting initiatives which recognise competition wins and status, Chill Factore is committed to championing grass roots passion and potential, creating opportunities for children who may not otherwise have had the chance to realise their ambitions. Up to five passionate youngsters, who demonstrate their determination, willpower and ambition to Eddie, will win 12 months sponsorship from Chill Factore.

With the aim of encouraging young people to get into snow sports and uncover hidden talent, the lucky winners will join the Chill Factore sponsored athletes programme, receiving 12 months of training and unlimited slope use, alongside talented young athletes.

Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, explains: “I know first-hand what it’s like to be told you can’t achieve something and I strongly believe that you can be anything you want to be with the determination and passion to fulfil your dreams.

“Working with Chill Factore, that’s exactly what we hope to do – give young people with a love of snowsports the chance to fulfil their destiny and know that nothing is out of reach if you want it enough. This isn’t about how many times you’ve competed, the records you hold or the number of followers you have on social media. We are looking to celebrate the untapped passion and potential out there.”

Home of the UK’s longest real snow slope, Chill Factore is inviting entrants between the ages of 6-18 across all disciplines from alpine, freeski, freestyle, moguls, ski cross, boarder cross, snowboard half-pipe, snowboard slope-style and various DSUK.

Morwenna Angove, Chill Factore CEO, commented: “Day in, day out, we see some fantastic skiers and snowboarders enjoying the slope and know that with a little bit of belief and encouragement, they could achieve big things. Our talent spotting initiative is not about finding the best skiers and snowboarders out there, but recognising young people who are passionate about the sport and dream of achieving greatness!”

Entrants have until September 22nd, 2017 to apply for the talent spotting programme and must submit a 200-word written explanation about their future aspirations and why they have the passion and potential to realise their snow sports dream. Entries can be accompanied by photography or video content which shows personality and sporting prowess. Entries must be sent to [email protected].
