Swiss resorts are in their best shape of the season so far after a second week of snowfall.  After previous snowfalls tended to favour resorts in the north west of Switzerland, the latest big snowfalls have brought big snowfalls to the Wester Swiss Alps – particularly welcomed by resorts like Villars and centres in the Portes du Soleil which now have much better snow cover than before.

Many areas got 50cm or more of fresh snow this past week, and there was so much snow in the Jungfrau region (one of those needing it) that the famous Lauberhorn downhill at Wengen had to be cancelled.  Here’s our man in Murren:

Iain from Skipedia.co.uk is in Mürren for Inferno…exciting stuff, so thanks for the snow report Iain!

The Laax open is currently underway though:

What more could you ask for? Bluebird, prime conditions on the mountain and the Semi-Finals Halfpipe were a full blast! This are the highlights of the LAAX OPEN Semi-Finals Pipe. Can't wait for Saturday, when those guys compete at the finals!#laaxopen #thebeast #bestshow #laaxisniceyo

Conditions are now largely cold and dry across Switzerland so great for skiing on and off piste at most resorts.
