A new design of giant airbag is being credited with helping some of the world’s best freestyle skiers and boarders with training ahead of the 2018 Olympics and other international competitions.

Named the ‘Progression Bag’ the big design development is that the bag is contoured to mimic the shape of a landing ski slope rather than being the traditional ‘giant pillow’ shape.  It’s also much longer.

The new bags been developed by Progression Bags, Acrobag and Katal Innovations and have so far been tested in US West coast resorts including at the ‘still-open for the 2016-17 ski season’, Mammoth in California.

The new bag is about 65 metres long by about 23 metres wide and has raised ‘walls’ at it extremities to prevent any dangers of riders sliding of the end after landing at speed.
