The great American ski racer Bode Miller is the star of an all new 360° ‘virtual reality’ downhill racing ski video that has been launched online by Eurosport.

The video follows Miller as he races down the ‘Birds of Prey’ World Cup course at Beaver Creek in Colorado, but what makes it different to other videos is that users can swing their field of view around so that they can see the race from Bode’s perspective, or watch Bode’s face as he descends, or watch from any other angle.

After watching the video in VR Bode Miller confirmed, “This is by far the best way to experience ski racing I have ever seen.”

The video was created, according to Eurosport, by fixing two rigs to Miller’s equipment, each rig itself carrying two cameras and a 220° fish eye lens,

Eurosport and their owners The Discovery Channel’s VR teams then created the final footage to give what they describe as, “the ultimate in dynamic, engaging content.”
