Winter Golf on Snow Returns to Val d’Isère

The sixth edition of the BMW Winter Golf Cup will return to Val d’Isère, France, from 22nd-25th March 2018 , bringing together professional players, celebrities, and a whole group of people who are passionate about the game.

The four-day programme comprises amateur competitions, street golf and a day of Winter Golf presented by the Ryder Cup 2018 (which will take place in France) and BMW. The Ryder Cup’s  European team captain Thomas Bjørn will be present for the high altitude event.

Philippe Guilhem, a fanatical golfer, skier and general lover of the great outdoors launched the first Winter Golf Cup in Megève back in 2000 and the golf competition on snow first arrived in Val d’Isère in March 2013.

The concept is simple enough: get amateur golfers together for a fun competition with lunches and dinners in the convivial atmosphere generated by winter sports. Sponsored each year by BMW, the Winter Golf Cup

With six months to go until the Ryder Cup, Thomas Bjørn will tee off from the Face de Bellevarde (the Olympic downhill course) as a follow up to the drives from the Eiffel Tower last October by the two team captains to mark one year to go.

The main tournament comprises two rounds of four-ball golf over nine holes, taking place over two days for teams of two players. They are allowed to use six clubs, plus putter. Participation includes lunches, dinners and gifts.

In addition street golf in the centre of Val d’Isère takes place from 5pm and is open to all.
