Dominic Killinger – Publisher and MD

Dominic is described by many as a serial entrepreneur.

His journey into Ski Publishing started when he founded Square Mile in 2002, providing Wi-Fi on yachts (before anybody knew what Wi-Fi was). Within just 4 years, BT bought the company. At the same time, Dominic sold an online marine publishing business that was less than 12 months old!

With a small pot of other business interests, his ultimate aim was to create a business that fulfilled his passion for skiing. Identifying an obvious gap in the Ski Publishing market in the 2007/8 Ski Season, InTheSnow magazine was launched.

Now distributed by more than 400 locations around the UK and read online and in hard copy by more than a quarter of a million skiers per month, it’s certainly becoming another success story for Dominic.

Patrick “The Snow Hunter” Thorne – Chief Editor

Patrick has been a full time, year round, professional ski writer for 30 years. Nicknamed “The Snow Hunter” he has identified 100 countries where it is possible to ski and located more than 6,000 ski areas in 80 countries, visiting more than 260 ski resorts personally.  For the past 15 years Patrick has published a weekly bulletin of stories from ski resorts all around the planet, notching up more than 8,000 reports. He has written a dozen books on skiing, received several awards for his work, had his work translated in to more than 20 languages and was named “One of 20 People to know in Ski” by The Times.  Along with editing InTheSnow, Patrick has contributed regularly to The Independent since the late 1990s, in recent years working as snow travel columnist for The Independent on Sunday.

Giancarlo Gambardella – Advertising Sales Manager

Giancarlo joins InTheSnow in time for the winter 14/15 season heading up media sales across all our titles and digital channels, having previously worked with The Independent, The i and The Evening Standard, specialising in travel and ski.

Giancarlo is a real family man with a great passion for life overall and admits that he knows “almost every word to every episode of Only Fools and Horses.”  He’s a kickboxer, a tennis fan and in the past was a semi-pro footballer (weren’t we all?) and now his passion for ski and the mountains will no doubt take over!

Anne Powys-Keck – Love The Mountains Brand Manager

Anne is a true lover of the mountains and action sports.  Inspired by Wonder Woman and the Dukes of Hazzard, she was windsurfing and riding BMX under the age of 10, then moved into MTB, has raced DH and Boardercross, tried Enduro SUP racing and plans to do a lot more in 2017.  She has over 20 years experience; working for some of the biggest MTB and action sports brands on the planet, as well as many lifestyle and fashion brands, worked 3 winter seasons and run an action sports content agency for 6 years.  She is an expert in all things mountains and action sports.

Debbie Gabriel – Operations Director

After 17 years in the blue chip corporate world, the call of the mountains became too much for Debbie, so earlier this year, her passion for skiing became her business. Now working directly alongside the Publisher of InTheSnow, Debbie looks after the operation whilst also navigating the world of social media. Debbie joins this well established team with a clear focus in mind; “to help maintain the market leading position that InTheSnow has in the UK, but to take it to a whole new level of readership and distribution, both hard copy and online.”

Gaby Le Breton – Contributor

From the moment Gabriella first stood on skis aged two and a half (sporting a canary yellow onesie) she was hooked. Having spent much of her youth living in Austria and Switzerland, striving to perfect the art of the hip-swinging 1980s ‘Euro-style’ skiing, she discovered parabolic skis in 2000 and relearned how to ski over the course of two winter seasons in Aspen, Colorado. Undeterred by the fractured neck, broken cheek, three concussions, broken thumb and repeated knee injuries sustained over her ski years, Gabriella is as enthusiastic as ever about hitting the slopes. She has skied in over 110 resorts across the world, co-wrote the Footprint ‘Skiing Europe’ guidebook and contributes articles about skiing to newspapers and magazines including The Telegraph, The Financial Times, Condé Nast Traveller and Ski+board.

Max Blind – Digital Developer

Max is a new member of the team, although he isn’t a skier yet he is keen to give it a go! He focuses in web design and development which he has been doing since a very young age.
