Ackers Adventure, Birmingham’s outdoor activity centre, hosted the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham as well as GB Paralympian Anna Turney and members of the West Midlands Special Olympics team at a ‘Slide2Sochi’ Winter Olympic and Paralympic roadshow at the weekend.
The Winter Olympic themed roadshow was run by governing body Snowsport England with Ackers Adventure and the Midland Ski Club.
People attending had the chance to take part in a ‘TRY’ ski and snowboard sessions, free rollerskiing taster sessions with the Midland Ski Club and free tobogganing.
As well as getting involved in activities on the slope, those attending the Slide2Sochi roadshow wished British wintersports athletes’ good luck for the Games by signing the giant Slide2Sochi snowball which is touring the country and will eventually make its way to Sochi.
