Passo Tonale, Italy
‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’ sang Diana Ross. Well Diana, actually there is. Head to Passo Tonale for high-altitude and Italian attitude, with plenty ofpistes over 3000m. Home to the Presena Glacier, it’s pretty much snow sure all season.
Cosy Alpine huts, tree-lined slopes and proper umbrella bar après – if it’s an authentic Austrian ski trip that you’re after, check out Niederau. Especially good for beginners, you can also access the resort of Alpbach if you’re more of a ‘French Fries’ sort of skier.
