California and much of the west coast of North America suffered drought conditions for three months at the start of the season but now that spring is here, it won’t stop snowing.
The latest winter storm systems moving through the Sierra Nevada have now delivered 61 inches of snow (153cm) to Squaw Valley a in the last six days.
Snow is still coming down at the resorts and weather forecasters predict light snow showers and cool temperatures throughout the rest of week, with sunny days projected for this Saturday and Sunday.
“The recent five feet of snow and forecasted sunny skies could make this weekend one of the best weekends of the winter season,” said a statement from the resort.
Squaw Valley’s mountaintop hot tub will be the place to be this Saturday with a DJ pool party in the afternoon.
As part of an on-going spring themed weekend deal, Squaw Valley will also be giving $10 off lift tickets to anyone dressed as a superhero on Saturday and Sunday.
