The latest snow storms are expected to bring big accumulations to Italian slopes – right across the north of the country from the Alps to the Dolomites – but so far just a couple of resorts had reported just a couple of inches of snow on Friday, 24th February.

The snow is expected to keep falling and IF those forecasts prove correct the big snowfalls that are set to arrive will be especially good news in the Dolomites where the lower runs are back to white ribbons on brown/green hillsides after snowfalls earlier this month thawed away.

So bases in the Dolomites remain rather marginal at typically 10-40cm, but continue to be relatively healthy in the Alps with 50-100cm on lower slopes and 1-2m on upper runs at most areas.
