Still by far the most popular destination nation for British skiers, you’d think there were so many tour ops offering holidays there that the list of ski areas that could be offered was exhausted.

But not so, Peak Retreats, who have French members of their team and are the award-winning specialists in finding unspoilt French ski villages, normally linked to big ski areas, has managed to find half a dozen new options for next winter.

The company is offering two new options on the under-rated Sybelles regional pass (310km of piste), under explored so far by Brits, are Albiez and La Toussuire.

Peak Retreats also have the leading French Nordic ski area of Bessans, which has very limited Alpine slopes but is just a few minutes from Val Cenis, and does have world class cross-country and biathlon facilities.

They’ve also added Chamrousse (pictured above), which boasts a relatively large ski area of its own, with 90km of runs and is close to Grenoble.  It was the venue for downhill events at the 1968 Olympics.

Finally the company is also offering Auris which is linked to the superb Alpe d’Huez ski region and Doucy which is part of Valmorel’s giant ski region new for winter 2015-16.
