During the summer months most tour operators seem to go in to hibernation or start promoting ski holidays for the coming winter.
However Peak Retreats, the French specialist, are keen to promote packages to the two French glacier snowsports destinations of Les 2 Alpes and Tignes, which are open from mid-June to the start of September.
Snowsports take place from 7am to lunchtime on the glaciers, which are amongst Europe’s largest, leaving the afternoons to soak up the sun back in the resort.

Or ski in Les Deux Alpes from £120pp staying at the lower end of the resort’s main avenue and the foot of the Pied-Moutet mountainside in the newly built Alba, a short walking distance to the nearest shops and some of the 40 restaurants, bars, Olympic ice skating rink and swimming pool. The main cable car departure for the ski area is about 1km away.
