Austria’s SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser-Brixental are investing €23m in upgrades across its ski area for the coming winter.
On the shopping list there’s a renovated Panoramarestaurant Bergkaiser above Ellmau, a new multi-storey car park and underground parking garage by the lifts in Hopfgarten, family ski storage with testing centre and toboggan hire at Söll, an eight-seater chairlift at Scheffau, four piste bashers and more than 25 new snow making facilities
However Brixen is actually adding to the Skiwelt’s biggest-in-Austria 280km of linked slopes by creating a new 1.2 km long red run, complete with snow making facilities.
The new red run goes from the former Holzalmlift valley station (1,440m above sea level) down towards Gasthof Nieding (1,215m above sea level).
