Park City Ski Areas Move Closer

2015 is set to be a historic year for Park City, the world-famous Utah ski town.

https://www.inthesnow.com/wp-admin/post-new.php#edit_timestampThere has been talk for decades of the three ski areas that surround Park City, their boundaries bumping up against one another, interconnecting European-style, so that skiers can cross between them in what would be one of North America’s biggest ski areas. Now that dream is finally set to become reality – partially at least, with one company now running two of those areas: Park City Mountain Resort itself, accessed from the town’s central Main Street, and the neighbouring huge and state-of-the-art Canyons ski area.

The merger is so recent that this season the two areas will be skiable on the same ticket, then next summer, a new lift will connect the areas creating the biggest lift served ski area in the USA.  In the meantime you can, in any case, ski all three areas with the Park City Three Resort International Pass, which also includes Deer Valley to give a total of   429 named runs on 9,300 acres of skiable terrain – more skiing in one valley than anywhere else in North America.

But don’t just go for the big skiing; go for the deep and super-light snow, quick and easy transfer from Salt Lake City’s international airport, less than 40 miles away, and the vibrant community of Park City – one of the world’s great ski towns attracting more than three million visitors, year round, every year …

The resort is home to over 200 colourful restaurants and bars, plus innumerable shops and other activity options, the competition between which drives up quality and ensures high value, while on the mountain, you’ll bounce through the trademarked “greatest snow on earth”, which falls (or rather “floats down”) in abundance, averaging nearly 9m of the lovely stuff each winter.
