Intrawest Offers Chance For Parents to Keep Track of Their Kids

15 Oct 09

Intrawest owned Tremblant ski area near Montreal in Quebec, Canada and Steamboat Springs in Colorado, USA are both introducing an innovative new child tracking system to their ski schools this winter. The Flaik system will make it possible to locate children in real-time using an arm-band provided with a GPS system. In addition to ensuring peace of mind for the parents, it will be possible to re-examine the day spent on the slopes at home. Everything is recorded on the system’s web site, so that skiers can view which tracks and which chairlifts they took during the day and be able to obtain interesting statistics such as speed, number of trails done in a day, maximum speed reached, distance covered and much more. This will give parents the opportunity to see how their children are progressing and provides added reassurance for instructors too – if a student takes a wrong trail or wanders too far, a warning sounds immediately. This service will also be offered to groups or anyone wanting to try the device in Steamboat or Tremblant, interested adults included!
