The French ski resort of les Menuires plans to kick off their 2017-18 season with a ‘Geek and Tech’ festival which they say will be the biggest event of the season.
Running over the weekend of 9-10 December 2017 the two days will see indoor and outdoor activities all focussed on technology and gaming.
“It’s the first time an event like this has been held in a mountain environment,” said a Les Menuires spokesperson.
Bars will have evenings dedicated to video games; outdoors a game based on ‘Game of Thrones’ will bring lasers and photo-tech together. The cinema and event spaces in Les Menuires will be turned in to gaming centres bringing industry professionals and skiers and riders together.
Both retro-gaming and the latest generation video games and consoles will be featured and there’ll also be a simulation space offering an immersive experience and augmented reality.
Packages from 130€ per person including two night’s accommodation with two day ski pass and two day pass to the event are available direct from the resort
