British aerials skier Lloyd Wallace has been described today as “conscious and comfortable” by British Ski and Snowboard 48 hours after he suffered what was described by The International Ski Federation (FIS) as a “Severe Head Injury.”
Lloyd, who is a world junior bronze medallist in Aerials (pictured above), was injured in a training crash in Mettmenstetten, Switzerland after falling on a run-up on Thursday.
The FIS said Wallace was in a ‘light coma but stable’ after being flown to the University Hospital Zurich by helicopter immediately after the accident.
British Ski and Snowboard issued an update on Lloyd’s condition today issuing a statement:
“We can confirm that Lloyd is now conscious and comfortable, and will be moved from intensive care to a recovery ward today in Zurich. He is doing well and is able to talk. Our thoughts continue to be with Lloyd and his family. ”
Lloyd trains full-time with the Swiss aerial skiing team and has been using his JustGiving page to help his bid to reach next year’s Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea.
